Explore the art of guitar tone with the Taylor DarkTone Series Guitar Pick Tin, a premium collection designed to help guitarists discover how different pick materials, shapes, and thicknesses influence their sound. Featuring nine carefully selected guitar picks from Taylor’s DarkTone collection, this assortment offers an opportunity to experiment with a range of tonal characteristics while keeping your favourite picks organised in a stylish, reusable storage tin.
Developed by Taylor Guitars, the DarkTone Series takes a thoughtful approach to guitar pick design, recognising that even small changes in material and construction can influence string attack, tonal warmth, clarity, and articulation. Rather than focusing solely on thickness and flexibility, the collection introduces specialised materials designed to emphasise different aspects of a guitar’s natural sound.
Each tin includes selections from four distinctive DarkTone families. Premium Ivoroid picks deliver a traditional playing experience with a warm, midrange-focused tonal character. Thermex Ultra picks combine warmth with articulate clarity, while Thermex Pro offers a rich, rounded tonal response. Completing the assortment, Taylex picks produce a punchier response with pronounced midrange and sparkling treble.
With nine different combinations of material, shape, thickness, and finish, guitarists can compare picking responses and discover which designs best complement their playing style. The assortment includes both standard 351 and larger 346 shapes, alongside a compact 651 Taylex pick, providing a variety of handling experiences suitable for strumming, flatpicking, and expressive lead playing.
The collection is available in two elegant editions. The Standard Edition (2600) features a practical black metal tin with a sliding lid, offering convenient storage and portability. For a more luxurious presentation, the Collector’s Edition (2601) features a black metal case with a hinged lid, genuine Hawaiian koa wood detailing, and a leather insert embossed with the Taylor logo.
Both editions contain the same nine guitar picks, making the choice primarily a matter of personal style and preferred storage design. Whether you’re an acoustic guitarist exploring tonal possibilities, an electric guitarist searching for a new picking feel, or a Taylor enthusiast looking for a collectible accessory, the Taylor DarkTone Series Guitar Pick Tin combines musical versatility with attractive presentation.
