Experience a warmer, richer tonal response with the Taylor 80759 Premium DarkTone 351 Thermex Pro Tortoise Shell Guitar Picks, a premium collection designed for guitarists who value smooth string release, precise articulation, and comfortable playing control. Part of Taylor Guitars’ DarkTone Series, these picks combine specially formulated materials with precision-cut construction to deliver a traditional playing experience with a distinctive tonal character.
Crafted from Taylor’s proprietary Thermex Pro thermoplastic material, these picks are engineered to resemble the appearance and playing characteristics of traditional tortoiseshell. The specialised synthetic material offers a smooth picking surface while helping produce a warmer, fuller sound with reduced high-frequency twang.
Featuring a substantial 1.50mm thickness, the Taylor Thermex Pro picks provide a firm playing feel with minimal flexibility. Their relatively rigid construction supports controlled string attack and consistent articulation, making them particularly suitable for detailed single-note passages, acoustic flatpicking, and expressive lead guitar performances.
The classic 351 pick shape offers a familiar teardrop-style profile, providing comfortable handling and a focused picking tip. Unlike larger triangular picks, the 351 shape is compact and straightforward to position between the thumb and index finger, making it a versatile choice for guitarists accustomed to traditional plectrums.
Each pick features precision-cut edges designed to glide smoothly across the strings, promoting clean string release and a responsive playing feel. Combined with the elegant Tortoise Shell finish, these picks deliver a balance of classic aesthetics and dependable performance.
Taylor developed the Thermex Pro collection to provide one of the most traditional playing experiences within its DarkTone range, making these picks especially appealing to acoustic guitarists seeking additional warmth and a rounded attack. They are also suitable for electric guitarists who prefer a thicker pick with a smooth, controlled response.
Manufactured in the USA, each retail pack contains six premium 351-shaped guitar picks. Whether you’re practising, recording, or performing live, the Taylor Premium DarkTone 351 Thermex Pro Picks offer a combination of refined tonal warmth, reliable picking control, and traditional styling.
