Experience a warmer, richer guitar tone with the Taylor 80758 Premium DarkTone 346 Thermex Pro Tortoise Shell Guitar Picks, a premium collection designed for guitarists who appreciate smooth string release, precise picking control, and traditional playability. Part of Taylor Guitars’ innovative DarkTone Series, these picks combine specially formulated materials with precision-cut construction to deliver a refined playing experience.
Crafted from Taylor’s proprietary Thermex Pro thermoplastic material, these picks are designed to replicate the appearance and playing characteristics of traditional tortoiseshell without using genuine animal-derived shell. The specialised material produces a warmer, fuller tonal response with reduced high-frequency twang, making it particularly appealing to guitarists seeking a smooth and rounded sound.
Featuring a substantial 1.50mm thickness, the Taylor Thermex Pro picks offer a firm playing feel with minimal flexibility. This thicker construction encourages controlled string attack and consistent articulation, allowing guitarists to perform detailed single-note passages, rhythmic accompaniment, and expressive lead guitar techniques with confidence.
Unlike the conventional 351 guitar pick, the 346 shape features a larger, rounded triangular profile with three usable picking corners. Its broader surface provides additional gripping space, while the symmetrical design allows players to rotate the pick and use different corners as needed. This makes it especially suitable for musicians who prefer a larger pick that sits comfortably between their fingers.
The precision-cut edges are designed to glide smoothly across guitar strings, promoting clean string release and a responsive playing feel. Combined with the distinctive Tortoise Shell finish, these picks offer both practical functionality and classic visual appeal.
Manufactured in the USA, each retail pack contains six premium guitar picks. Whether you’re exploring acoustic flatpicking, performing intricate guitar melodies, or looking for a thicker pick with a warmer tonal character, the Taylor Premium DarkTone 346 Thermex Pro Guitar Picks offer a combination of dependable control, traditional styling, and expressive sound.
