Experience exceptional precision, smooth string release, and powerful tonal response with the Jim Dunlop John Petrucci Primetone Jazz III Guitar Picks, a premium signature pick collection developed in collaboration with John Petrucci, guitarist of Dream Theater. Designed for guitarists who demand accuracy, speed, and consistent control, these picks combine the renowned Jazz III shape with a specialised playing edge inspired by Petrucci’s personal preferences.
Crafted from highly durable Ultex material, each pick features a 1.38mm thickness that delivers a firm, responsive playing feel with excellent note articulation. The rigid construction produces a bold, clear attack, making these picks particularly suitable for technical lead guitar performances, fast alternate picking, and intricate melodic passages.
One of the standout features is the custom bevelled edge, modelled after the naturally worn edges of John Petrucci’s own guitar picks. This carefully shaped bevel helps the pick glide smoothly across the strings, reducing resistance and promoting fluid transitions between notes.
The signature Jazz III tip provides precise string contact for controlled picking, while the specially designed grip surface offers enhanced handling and stability. Together, these features allow guitarists to maintain control during demanding techniques such as alternate picking, sweep picking, and rapid lead passages.
Available in two distinctive colours, the Black variation offers a classic professional appearance, while the Oxblood Red variation provides a rich, dark red finish. Both versions share the same materials, dimensions, and performance characteristics.
Each package contains three premium signature picks, making the Jim Dunlop John Petrucci Primetone Jazz III an excellent choice for guitarists seeking a refined playing experience with outstanding control, durability, and precision.
