DiMarzio DP138BK Virtual Acoustic Soundhole Guitar Pickup – Black

DiMarzio DP138BK Virtual Acoustic Soundhole Guitar Pickup – Black

Experience warm, natural acoustic amplification with the DiMarzio DP138BK Virtual Acoustic Soundhole Guitar Pickup, a high-performance magnetic pickup designed to preserve the distinctive character of your steel-string acoustic guitar. Combining DiMarzio’s Virtual Vintage technology with a convenient soundhole-mounted design, the Virtual Acoustic delivers excellent tonal clarity, responsive dynamics, and remarkably quiet operation.

Unlike conventional acoustic pickups that may introduce unwanted electrical noise, the Virtual Acoustic incorporates DiMarzio’s advanced hum-cancelling technology to provide an exceptionally quiet performance. Its design produces a warm, open tonal response that captures the individual character of the instrument while maintaining clarity across a wide range of playing techniques.

Equipped with a ceramic magnet and twelve adjustable pole pieces, the DP138BK allows players to fine-tune the balance between individual strings. This feature is particularly useful for achieving a consistent amplified sound, whether performing delicate fingerstyle passages, rhythmic strumming, or expressive acoustic melodies.

One of its standout features is the integrated volume control with a compensated tone network. This specialised circuit helps minimise unwanted tonal changes when adjusting the volume, allowing guitarists to control their output while maintaining a consistent sound.

The Virtual Acoustic is also designed for straightforward installation. Its foam-insulated mounting brackets fit into the guitar’s soundhole, while the foam can be trimmed to accommodate smaller soundhole openings. This makes it a practical choice for players who want an acoustic pickup without immediately committing to permanent instrument modifications.

A supplied 10-foot (approximately 3.05m) cable provides a convenient connection to compatible acoustic amplifiers, mixers, or other sound equipment. The passive design eliminates the need for batteries or onboard power, keeping operation simple and dependable.

Finished in classic black, the DiMarzio DP138BK offers an understated appearance that complements a wide variety of acoustic guitars.

Whether you’re performing live, recording acoustic guitar arrangements, or upgrading your instrument’s amplification system, the DiMarzio Virtual Acoustic Soundhole Pickup combines natural tonal reproduction, precise string balancing, and low-noise performance in one versatile design.
