DiMarzio The Tone Zone High-Output Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup – Cream, Black, White

DiMarzio The Tone Zone High-Output Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup – Cream, Black, White

Transform your electric guitar’s bridge sound with the DiMarzio DP155 The Tone Zone High-Output Humbucker Pickup. Renowned for its massive low-end response, rich midrange and exceptional dynamic sensitivity, The Tone Zone delivers a powerful, full-bodied sound for guitarists seeking greater warmth, depth and impact.

Introduced in 1991, The Tone Zone was developed to address a common problem with bright-sounding bridge pickups: excessive treble and a thin, aggressive tonal character. Instead of producing piercing high frequencies, The Tone Zone emphasises powerful bass and low mids, creating a bigger, warmer and more muscular guitar sound.

Equipped with an Alnico 5 magnet, the pickup delivers strong attack and a highly responsive playing feel. Its manufacturer-rated 375mV output provides substantial power for driving amplifiers into rich overdrive and distortion, making it suitable for hard rock, classic rock, fusion and modern guitar performances.

One of The Tone Zone’s defining characteristics is its exceptionally wide dynamic range. When played aggressively, the pickup produces a powerful, saturated sound with pronounced low-frequency impact. With a lighter picking touch, the response becomes noticeably cleaner and quieter, giving guitarists greater control over their tone without adjusting their equipment.

The pickup features DiMarzio’s patented Dual-Resonance technology, which produces rich harmonic overtones despite its thick tonal character. This helps sustained lead notes sound expressive and musical, while chords retain impressive size and depth.

Its strong bass response adds weight to palm-muted rhythms and power chords, while the prominent midrange contributes to thick, singing lead sounds. Higher notes retain depth rather than becoming thin or shrill, making The Tone Zone particularly effective in bright or naturally lean-sounding solid-body electric guitars.

With clean amplification, the pickup delivers warm, substantial chords and smooth melodic passages. Under overdrive, it offers saturated rhythm sounds, rich harmonics and responsive sustain without losing its characteristic fullness.

Designed primarily for the bridge position of compatible six-string solid-body electric guitars, The Tone Zone pairs particularly well with DiMarzio’s Air Norton, PAF Joe and PAF Pro neck pickups, creating a balanced combination of powerful bridge tone and articulate neck response.

Featuring four-conductor wiring, The Tone Zone supports additional switching arrangements, including coil splitting and parallel humbucking when installed with compatible guitar electronics. DiMarzio also highlights its excellent single-coil-style sound when used in split mode.

Available in Cream, White and Black, with selected Standard and F-Spaced configurations, The Tone Zone accommodates different guitar designs and string-spacing requirements.

Whether you’re upgrading a bright bridge pickup, building a versatile performance guitar or seeking a powerful sound with excellent dynamic control, the DiMarzio The Tone Zone DP155 delivers exceptional warmth, rich harmonics and unmistakable high-output performance.
