Developed in collaboration with virtuoso guitarist Paul Gilbert, this high-performance Strat-style replacement pickup combines the warmth and output of a modern guitar pickup with the clarity, speed and expressive dynamics required for demanding performances.

Introduced in 2010, the Injector Bridge was designed to complement Paul Gilbert’s technically precise playing style, including rapid alternate picking, intricate arpeggios, powerful chords and expressive lead passages. The pickup was developed alongside the Injector Neck and featured in the guitar configuration associated with Gilbert’s album Fuzz Universe.

Unlike traditional Stratocaster-style single-coil pickups, the Injector Bridge features a stacked hum-cancelling design. This construction helps eliminate unwanted electrical hum while maintaining the compact appearance and familiar fit of a standard Strat-style pickup.

Equipped with six individual Alnico 2 magnets, the Injector Bridge delivers warm, balanced tones with solid bass, defined midrange and bright but controlled high frequencies. Its manufacturer-rated 185mV output makes it one of DiMarzio’s stronger hum-cancelling Strat pickups, providing additional drive and body without excessive compression.

One of the pickup’s most distinctive features is its reduced magnetic string pull. DiMarzio designed the Injector series with approximately 40% less magnet pull than conventional single-coil pickups, allowing the strings to vibrate more freely and improving the pickup’s dynamic response to picking technique.

This responsiveness makes the Injector Bridge particularly effective for fast, technically demanding playing. Rapid single-note passages remain articulate, while aggressive power chords retain their definition without sounding muddy or overly compressed.

With clean amplification, the pickup produces full-bodied tones that are warmer and stronger than those of many vintage-style single-coils. Under overdrive and distortion, it delivers smooth sustain, defined attack and the clarity needed for rock, fusion and instrumental guitar performances.

The Injector Bridge is designed primarily for the bridge position of compatible six-string Strat-style electric guitars, although it can also be used in the neck position alongside higher-output bridge pickups.

For a versatile pickup configuration, pair it with the DiMarzio Injector Neck (DP422) and Area 67 (DP419) in the middle position. This combination was used by Paul Gilbert to balance powerful modern tones with more traditional Strat-style sounds.

Featuring four-conductor wiring, the Injector Bridge supports compatible switching options and integrates with conventional passive guitar electronics. Its fully passive construction requires no battery.
