Experience exceptional power, clarity, and expressive dynamics with the DiMarzio DP273FBK Satchur8 Joe Satriani Signature Humbucker Pickup, a high-output bridge pickup developed in collaboration with legendary guitarist Joe Satriani. Designed to deliver a rich, full-bodied sound with outstanding harmonic response, the Satchur8 combines a powerful Alnico 8 magnet with specially tuned coils for impressive tonal depth and playing versatility.
Introduced in 2017, the Satchur8 was developed to achieve the powerful yet musical response that Joe Satriani demands from his electric guitar pickups. Unlike conventional high-output humbuckers that can sound overly compressed or harsh, the Satchur8 delivers strong output while preserving note definition, natural dynamics, and a smooth tonal character. At the heart of the pickup is its Alnico 8 magnet, chosen for its combination of powerful output, deep bass response, and smooth midrange frequencies. This magnetic construction helps produce a broad, commanding string attack with substantial note weight, while the specially tuned coils retain clarity and prevent the nasal or congested characteristics sometimes associated with powerful magnets.
With a rated 375mV output, the Satchur8 offers plenty of power for aggressive rock rhythms, sustained lead guitar passages, and high-gain performances. Its rich low frequencies and warm, singing highs make it particularly suitable for expressive solos, while its responsive dynamics allow players to move between powerful and softer passages through changes in picking intensity.
The pickup also features four-conductor wiring, allowing guitarists to explore additional tonal configurations such as coil splitting and series/parallel humbucking when used with compatible switching electronics.
Designed specifically for the bridge position of six-string electric guitars, the DiMarzio Satchur8 is available exclusively in F-spacing, featuring wider pole-piece alignment commonly suited to guitars with certain tremolo bridges.
Finished in classic black, the DP273FBK offers a versatile appearance that complements many electric guitar designs. Whether you’re upgrading your instrument for expressive instrumental rock, progressive rock, or high-energy metal, the DiMarzio Satchur8 Humbucker delivers a compelling combination of powerful output, rich harmonics, smooth midrange, and responsive playing dynamics.
