The Roland KPD-70 is the three-pedal unit that turns the FP-30 and FP-30X into a complete home piano experience. Where the single sustain switch that ships with the piano does the job, the KPD-70 goes further — adding sostenuto and soft pedals, proper half-pedal response, and a weighted bar that anchors the entire KSC-70 stand assembly to the floor. Players who have made the switch consistently describe the same thing: it just feels more like a piano.

Mounting is straightforward. The KPD-70 bolts onto the underside of the KSC-70 stand and connects to the FP-30’s dedicated 8-pin DIN port at the rear. No separate power supply, no additional settings to configure. The left pedal can also be mapped as a page-turn trigger in compatible sheet music apps, a small but genuinely useful feature for anyone practising from a tablet.
